4 Ways To Grow Your Business With Blogging

Grow Business Through Blogging

One of the most common questions I get from small business owners who want to grow their business with blogging is, How do blogs help my business? In this article, I’ll explain 4 ways that blogging can help your business succeed online.

1) Increase your business’s visibility

One of your primary goals as a business owner is to increase your company’s visibility. You want people to know about you and your products, and you want them to spread that knowledge around. What is the best ways to do that? Make sure your brand is represented on blogs, websites, and media outlets throughout your industry.

If you are an active blogger yourself (which would be advisable for many types of businesses), try blogging about topics related to both your industry in general and specific keywords relevant to your product or service offering. By regularly publishing new content on relevant blogs, you can help raise awareness of both who you are and what it is that you do—and anyone following those blogs will see it.

2) Target customers with similar interests

Before you start blogging, you’ll want to determine who your target customer is. Knowing your target audience will help you craft posts and tailor your writing style to make it more relevant and compelling for readers who share similar interests. For example, if you sell flowers, catering, or event planning services to brides, a great way to grow business would be through a wedding-specific blog. If your target customer is male golfers then maybe it makes sense to create an informational golf-blog rather than a wedding-planning one. You get the picture.

3) Promote offers, events and products

One of your most effective tools for growing your business is to promote offers, events and products. If you have a great special offer or event that’s going on, let people know. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on advertising because you can use social media (like Facebook and Twitter) to get word out about what you are doing.

Another option is to buy ad space from sites like Google Adwords where you will pay each time someone clicks on your ad. Be sure that when you promote an offer, event, or product that it makes sense for your business, otherwise it may just come across as spammy and unprofessional. For example, if you own a bakery promoting a winter coat sale isn’t really all that useful!

4) Showcase expertise

While most business owners see blogging as a way to get their name out there and try to gain visibility, it is so much more than that. It is an opportunity for you to showcase your expertise in your field. You will benefit from sharing with other people what you know how to do better than anyone else—and generate leads at the same time. Furthermore, by showing others what you have learned, you will also be giving them ideas on how they can take action and improve their own business—without even knowing it! As a bonus, engaging with commenters on your site helps build stronger relationships within your community and brand awareness for potential clients. All of these things help grow your business.
